I arrived at Musick's Campground at 8:40 a.m. and was joined about 10 minutes
later by David Hunt. While there, we were treated to 2 Caspian Terns
standing on the shore and one Avocet standing in the edge of the lake nearby.
Feeding over the water was a flock of 12 Black Terns the entire time I was
there.
The final birds were two sandpipers, one of which flew before ID was possible,
however, the remaining bird was a Sanderling. A total of four state birds for
Tennessee for me. The Black Terns during their meandering over the water
were also in Virginia at times. Thank you for yesterday's alert!!!
