Birders:( Birds at Rankin Bottoms )
Today on Aug. 24, 2008 Shane & Dennis Adams went to fine the location to the
Swann's Marina in Dandrige, TN. for the Pontoon trip on Sept. 6, 2008 and we
stopped at Rankin Bottoms and saw about 3 or 4 Egrets, 3 Green Heron also at
Leadville, Great Blue Herons about 4 (also at Leadville in White Pine and
Dutch Bottoms ) about 12+ or more Eastern Kingbirds in the trees and flying and
a unknown Warbler ( it has yellow body and a brown wings with double white
stripes ), American Robins and some Swallows drinking from the water on the
side of the gravel road and also small birds going in out of Rankin along the
railroad tracks the look like American Pipits size of a goldfinch or house
finch and there is no water at Rankin and the mudflats completely dry with no
water.
