Reece Jamerson, Gil Derouen, and I spent the morning birding the ponds and
fields of southwestern Washington County, TN. Some examples of what we
observed are:

    Spotted Sandpiper
    Killdeer
    Phoebes
    Indigo Buntings (at least 5)

Pond at the junction of Kyker and Shanks Roads
    Green Heron (2)
    Killdeer
    Spotted Sandpiper

O.J. Campbell Rd/Clark Rd
   Hairy Woodpecker
   Blue Grosbeak

Westview Pond
    Killdeer (2)
    Barn Swallow (20)
    Tree Swallow (3)
    Northern Rough-winged Swallow (4)

Smithdale Blvd./Keebler Lane near Limestone
    Red-tailed Hawk
    Kestrel
    Eurasian Collared Dove (3)

In addition, we saw three Loggerhead Shrikes
one just north of Bush Hog Pond, where Precision Blvd. meets Slate Hill
Road
one on Slate Hill Road not far west of where Don Carson Rd. meets Slate
Hill Road
one on O.J. Campbell Road between Clark Road and Washington College
Station Road

We did not see any shorebirds other than the Killdeer and Spotted Sandpipers
and we did not see any Red-headed Woodpeckers along Stockton Rd. west of
Philadelphia.
