Birding Route: Left on Rte. 676 off US 19 N near Hansonville, VA. This is 
Clinch Mountain Road. At mile 8.2 we turned left on Rte. 613, Moccasin Valley 
Road. At mile 15.4 we turned left on 612, which goes over Clinch Mountain near 
the old fire tower to Mendota. We stopped our survey at mile 18.2 at the gap, 
elevation 2720. We kept a separate count for route 612 up Clinch Mountain. We 
had 49 species for the first 15.4 miles, and 5 new species up Clinch Mountain, 
for a total of 54 for the day.
