Brian Olsen joined the Bristol Bird Club for dinner tonight at the Mad Greek
Restaurant and then gave a nice presentation as the Second Annual "Stephen M.
Russell Graduate Lectureship."
The Virginia Tech doctoral candidate drove from Blacksburg to deliver his
lecture: "Evolutionary divergence in the Swamp Sparrow."
Bill Grigsby's name was reported from the officer nominating committee for the
office of President for 2005-2006. Vice President Larry McDaniel, Vice
President Dave Worley, Treasurer Janice Martin and Secretary Diana Worley were
among the other officers whose names were placed in nomination. The membership
will vote for officers at the May meeting.
Anyone who wants to place any name in nomination for the May election may do so
at that meeting prior to the vote. Those elected will take office at the BBC
picnic set for June 11 at Steele Creek Park. The offices of assistant
treasurer, curator and statistician are appointed by the president.
