[Bristol-Birds] BBC Walk at Steele Creek Park results

On Saturday, 6/28/08, seven birders enjoyed a biird walk at Steele Creek Park
during the Bristol Bird Club event. It was promoted as a beginners walk but was
more like an advavanced birders gathering. We strolled through a variety of
habitats finding 45 species of birds. Highlights included getting great looks
at a beautiful Yellow-throated Warbler, one or more Great Blue Herons, a
Broadwinged Hawk soaring and calling and an Eastern Phoebe sitting on her nest.

Ruby-throated Hummingbirds
Northern Flicker
Eastern Kingbirds
Purple Martins
Northern Rough-winged Swallows
Barn Swallows
Gray Catbird
Some heard only birds were
Pileated Woodpecker
Eastern Wood-Pewees
Acadian Flycatcher
Red-eyed Vireo
Blue-gray Gnatcatchers
Wood Thrush
Cedar Waxwings
Ovenbird
Summer Tanager
Scarlet Tanager
Chipping Sparrows
Participants were Janice Martin, Wilma Boy, Michele Sparks, Lisa Tyler, Roy
Knispel, Jennifer Kennedy and myself.
