[Bristol-Birds] BBC Picnic: The Morning After

Bristol Birders:
The 2004 BBC Annual Picnic at Steele Creek Park in Birstol, TN is now in the
books. Every attending participant left well fed and well socialized.

Dave Worley, now Vice President of the BBC, passed me the torch of Presidency
during the affair and in so doing issued an order of action, which was my
first official duty as BBC President, that being to ask the blessing for our
feast. I was honored to do so. I would again like to thank David for years of
service as our President and for the level of leadership that benefited our
club
during his three terms. I can only hope to do as well.

Diana Worley, Dave's wife and BBC Secretary, served as an exemplary First
Lady of the club as well as holding office during Dave's last term. In my
impromptu acceptance speech during the picnic I inadvertently failed to mention
the
strong and able support that Diana has demonstrated toward the BBC through the
years. Everyone knows that behind a great leader there is a great woman. I
feel this aptly describes Dave and Diana Worley. My omission of Diana's
contributions are sincerely regretted and would ask her forgiveness in the
making of my
first official mistake as President of the BBC.

Looking forward, I am pleased to be in a position to serve the BBC and it's
membership and look forward to doing so with the help and support of you all.
Thank you for your trust and this meaningful opportunity. Here's to the BBC
future...

Cheers!
