[Bristol-Birds] BBC Christmas PARTY 2002 !!!!!

It is Christmas party time with the Bristol Bird Club.

Saturday,   December 7 --  7:00 PM.

You are invited to our 9th Annual Rocking,
Party-down with the birding good-time gang.

This is the social occasion of the year in the region.
This is the event birders from far and wide await
with great anticipation.  This is the social event
that people scalp binoculars and state list cards
for.

Anyone who is anybody will be at the
Bristol Bird Club's big annual Christmas party
blow out.

Last year 44 birders attended !  Yes, 44!
Imagine that !  Yes.  They piged out and 
partied down !!
  
Come as you are -- even if you haven't had a
bath in a week !  Even if you've birded all day
or haven't been birding all year!

Food is always the greatest at the
BBC Christmas Party.  This is no place to bring
popcorn.  We eat and party down big time!
Plan for this to be your dinner.  We'll feed
you so much food you'll have to
have your stomach pumped. 

Be sure and bring TWO covered dish plates
(one if you have to travel more than 40 miles)
so that we will have plenty of food.  This is NOT
a snack and dessert party.  It is Christmas
Dinner with the BBC!  Good food is not
optional ! 

The lavish and delicious food spread will hit the
table at 7:00 p.m., Sat., Dec. 7 th (next week) 
at the warm and Christmasy home of  Fred

This is the smashing Christmas party that turned
into a riot in 1995 with our first "Birder of the Year
Award."   The  party at Larry "Mad Dog"
McDaniel's home.  The party that caused him
to sell his home and move ove out of his neighborhood
and also out of town.  The party that caused him to
become a REALTOR.

New security regulations this year:  bird fans
will not be allowed on the field and may not take
down the goal post following the party !
We are responsible birders -- responsible
party people !  No birders are allowed to send
law enforcement officials an advance list of persons
expected to attend.  No one is allowed to paint
over their auto tags before leaveing home!  That is
a BBC rule.

Bring one or more serious or silly gifts but you
had better not get caught spending much money. 

Bring your party mood and face full of joy. 

"Big Dave Santa" is on his way with his white
beard and a sleigh full of toys for all 
the birders, both naughty and nice. 
Santa will give out the gifts.  EVERYONE
gets gifts -- even if you don't know us.  
EVERYONE has to meet Santa.

Bring your neighbor.  Bring the whole family.
Bring your parents or grandparents.
Bring your children or grandchildren. 
Bring your mother-in-law (who would do that?)
Bring your X spouse ! :-)
Come alone!  Who cares?  Bring a life bird !

Don't come late.  After 7:30 p.m. you will have
to walk three to five blocks and pay $30 to $50
for parking spaces in neighbors' yards.  They've
figured out what the crowd is about.  Shuttle
bus service is $12 per person but only hauls
birders who park more than eight blocks away.

Those arriving late will have to have a red 
arm band placed on them at the door so they
may be made fun of by other birders.

 Directions:  From Commonwealth Ave
as you arrive off I-381 from I-81, turn left
onto Euclid Ave and her house is across from
Virginia Middle School at the first traffic
light.  From Bristol, Tenn. heading towards
I-381 or I-81 turn right off Commonwealth Ave.
on to Euclid Ave. and to the first traffic light.

You'll see, alive in person, the Birder
of The Year for 2002 be honored.  Eagle Service
pins for all the great things BBC people and
their friends do.  Best new birder of the year
award will be presented.  Find out who wins
the James and Mae Musick Award for 2002.

A great place to bring the entire 
family.  You must be old enough to feed yourself
and young enough to know what is going on.
Who would want to go to a party where they
didn't know what was going on ?  Too much
going on at a BBC party to not know !
If we don't know who you are, that won't
last but a minute.

This is no place for dull people who
hate fun.  Wear your best Christmas sweaters
or bows in your hair or whatever.  Wear a
Christmas tie if you don't have anything else
(that includes women).
 
Meet birders you've heard about for years.  
Come and see your birdding friends.  Come
find out who has been telling lies about the
birds they've seen.  Santa knows!  Come share
the joy of the Christmas holidays with fellow
birders and the Bristol Bird Club.

We do not card people at the door so
you don't need to be a BBC member.  You just
have to be fun and be there.

All seats on the floor are first come first serveed.
Seating in chairs depends on who wins the
fights.

See ya on the dance floor !  Actually,  that is
a lie.  We don't have a dance floor but you
won't know that.  Organized dancing is against
BBC policy, except for a real rare bird -- then
everyone dances !
