[Bristol-Birds] BBC Burke's Garden Golden Eagle trip set Saturday

BBC Burke's Garden Field Trip, Sat. Feb. 16th

The Bristol Bird Club's Eighteenth Annual
Burke's Garden Golden Eagle field trip to Burkes
Garden, in Tazewell County, Va, is scheduled for
      Saturday, Feb. 16TH.

Everyone is invited to join us.

The Bristol area people will leave from the ETSU
Bristol Campus at 7 am, they will proceed to the Hardee's
in Tazewell to meet the final group, before heading into
the valley. Anyone who wants to carpool should be
      able to find a ride.

We will have time to get a quick breakfast snack at
Hardee's before going up to the valley.

We will leave Hardee's very close to 9 a.m. We
should be in the garden no later than 9:45 a.m.

If we have snow in Tazewell County on Friday night,
the trip will be off. The weather forecast for Burke's
Garden calls for partially sunny with a high of 44. A
slight wind will make it feel like 42 degrees. Please
dress with heavy coats and caps. It can be colder
      than expected at times.

If you have a family radios system (FSR) we will use
channel 11. It is very handy to have your radios with
you in order to keep up to speed on what others are
      seeing.

There is one business establishment in the garden
which is a country store with a nice, clean and
warm restrooms. They also have a gas pump. We
will leave orders there for grill type sandwiches
for our lunch. They will be ready by noon.

BBC President Dave Worley will lead the field
trip, which is being coordinated by our V-P John
Moyle who is scheduling trips this year. Wallace
Coffey plans to meet birders at ETSU Bristol.

This field trip produces Rough-legged Hawks
and tons of other great birds, including waterfowl.

For more information, you may contact Dave at
276-880-1374. Wallace can be reached at his
      cell 423-360-2532.

This will be another wonderful birding trip.

      Let's go birding.......
