Kathy & Eric Noblet kayaked from Hidden Cove Marina up the lake along Austin
Springs and around Hodge Island this morning and observed 8 avocets circling
overhead down from the Austin Springs bridge area. We never saw them land.
Also in that area were 10 black terns and an osprey.
Other species seen include: 5 black-crowned night-herons, 1 least sandpiper,
great blue herons, green herons, kingfishers, black vultures, cormorants,
mallards, wood ducks and numerous chimney swifts.
