Jerry Bevins who lives on Boone Lake just outside of Johnson City called me
yesterday (Oct 19) to report he had a hummingbird with brown sides at his
feeder. I stopped by today (Oct 20) and did confirm he had a selasphorus
hummingbird coming to his feeders, as I saw the bird for about a 3 minute
period. It is probably a Rufous with light brown sides and a speckled throat.
We were not able to get a picture so we will continue to try to get better
looks at the bird in the future.
