[Bristol-Birds] American Golden-Plover, Brewer's Blackbird, etc. (Greene Co., TN)

March 28, 2005

On our way to Knoxville in late morning today, Alice Loftin and I
stopped briefly in the Turner Lane area to check on the American
Golden-Plover observed there the past two days. The bird was present
again today, just before noon. The weather was beginning to look
threatening as we left. As the day wore on, temperatures dropped and
rain began, so it's unlikely that the bird left.

Along Highway 340 about a tenth of a mile west of Turner Lane were at
least 5 Brewer's Blackbirds--3 males and 2 females.

About a mile farther west on Highway 340 were 4 Blue-winged Teal feeding
in a flooded field.

Also present were 50+ American Pipits, on Jim Kirk Road in Midway
community.
