On the final day of my rookie year of birding (my first recorded bird sighting
was Oct 1, 2006) I spent the morning banding birds with Rick Knight on Roan Mt,
which is always a treat. Hightlights included banding a sharpie and a fly over
by a peregrine falcon. In the afternoon Rob Biller and I chased Rick's Baird's
sandpiper in Limestone but we struck out on peeps. We did find an American
golden plover, though, which is likely the same bird reported by Rick
previously. It had apparently moved to another field.

Lesser yellowlegs (4-5)
Pectoral sandpiper (3)
Killdeer
Tree swallow (5)
Pond on Clark Rd*
American golden plover (in field near pond)
Killdeer
*Pond is located on Clark Rd off of Washington College Station Rd. If you
take Wash College Station Rd south from 11E you turn left on Clark Rd which is
about 1/8 mile before the railroad crossing. The pond is about 1/4 mile on the
right.
