[Bristol-Birds] American Bittern, Sora, Marsh Wren, etc. (Greene Co., TN)

Greene County--

Wal-Mart Distribution Center (WMDC), Joachime Bible Refuge (JBR), and numerous nearby backroad sites--about 3 hours this morning;
Round Knob (RK) and miscellaneous backroad sites nearby--about 2 hours this afternoon;
Greeneville, Tusculum, and Baileyton areas--about 1.5 hours this afternoon and evening


Migratory birds are pouring into the county. I found a total of 86 species today without making any special effort for high numbers. Notable observations included:

Canada Goose (17);
Gadwall (3, WMDC);
Blue-winged Teal (30);
Redhead (2 males, WMDC--a late date for Greene County);
Lesser Scaup (female, WMDC--a late date for Greene County);
Hooded Merganser (female, WMDC);
Wild Turkey (2);
Northern Bobwhite;
American Bittern (WMDC; heard and seen);
Great Blue Heron (4);
Green Heron (2);
Cooper's Hawk;
Broad-winged Hawk (2);
Sora (2, WMDC; 1 seen, 1 heard);
American Coot (2, WMDC);
Greater Yellowlegs (9);
Solitary Sandpiper;
Pectoral Sandpiper (4);
Wilson's Snipe (34);
Eurasian Collared-Dove (2, adjacent to West Greene High School);
Chimney Swift (17);
Red-headed Woodpecker (3, at 3 sites);
Eastern Phoebe (9);
Great Crested Flycatcher;
Eastern Kingbird (2);
White-eyed Vireo (2);
Blue-headed Vireo (2, RK);
Horned Lark (singing male, Green Road);
Purple Martin (9);
