Area Birders:
Congratulations is in order for the Austin Peay State University at
Clarksville, TN and their Student Chapter of the Wildlife Society. Chris
O'Bryan, Bristol Bird Club member, is one of the charter members who
established the new chapter and serves the leadership of this group as an
officer.
This past weekend was the 62nd Annual Southeastern Wildlife Society Conference
held in Corpus Christi, Texas and the APSU student chapter was selected as the
BEST STUDENT CHAPTER OF THE YEAR for the Southeastern Section! This is an
enormous accomplishment as Austin Peay was selected out of many universities.
The section is comprised of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky,
Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina,
Tennessee and Virginia as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and
the US Virgin Islands.
A big applause for the officers, members, faculty and volunteers from the
2007-2008 school year who made this possible! And a
tip of our hats to BBC guy Chris O'Bryan.
Let's go birding......
