Okay, so it looks like I should stop quoting stuff from memory now :)

I think the method name was misquoted to you, look at java.util.Arrays.asList. I've checked this one in the docs.

I consulted the docs further but still there is simply not a method anywhere that will do what you are saying. I found toAll() methods but none of the
type I need.

It would have taken something like a minute to write a little loop to do this. Instead I am browsing around the java6 docs at doggy slow speeds. Is there any way like a search form or consecutive links that will let me climb around the tree of docs by clicking or typing the nodes in the path? It wouldn't be so hard if my machine were not bogged down or IE and the net
provided a little speed.

I'm writing a simple, clunky loop and no one better point out it isn't
elegant .., or that java is any better.

Thanks for the tips. A little knowledge for a lot of pain.

Anyway, in the hours I have been doing this I could have written a whole
bunch of methods and tests.
