I would have to infer that indeed it means unpacking books on units like Braillenotes, Pack mates, and the like.
I know the VR Stream and the Bookcourier won't be affected as you unpack the book before transfering.
Beyond that I can tell you the unpack process will be different and hence the comments above.

Hi all,
I just subscribed to this list again after being away from it for some time.
Also, I just received the latest anouncement regarding the new bookshare site.
I'm sorry if this has been discussed here before, and if it has, maybe someone would be kind enough to write me privately.
In the anouncement one of the things stated is that some sort of technology upgrade will be required and users are advised to contact their vendors. Just what does this mean?
Since I'm using the latest version of window-eyes on a vista machine with all updates, I can't imagine anything further I would need. Maybe it's only for access via a notetaker, but if so it really should be stated as such.
