Hi Folks,
I'm having lots of fun reading books using the Victor Reader soft on my Vista computer. For those who are struggling with the new site I recommend this method highly. I first downloaded the Victor reader, VictorReader Soft_Installer_Current.exe and its documentation, then I downloaded the Acapela voices. I installed the voices first but found they only work with the BookShare software. I next tried to install the Victor reader but got an error message that some components were not installed.
I downloaded Dotnet-Framework-35.exe
installed it and then the victor soft program did install correctly.
I copied a Daisy formatted book from bookshare to the default folder, my downloads folder keeping the book still in the zip. When I ran Victor soft I updated the bookshelf and the book came up and I was able to read it with my default SAPI voice. I went into the Text to Speech menu, and changed the voice to the Acapela female voice,Heather22k
It also has the male voice, Ryan22k
These are some of the clearest, easiest to listen to voices I have ever experienced.
Try it , you'll like it!
Phil
