Before retiring I worked in the ESL department of a middle school. We had a lot of Iranian and Korean kids, as well, of course, kids from Central America, including Belize, and some from the Philippines. Quite often when I summoned a child for testing I was expecting a male and got a female instead, and vice versa. Plus, when I was in the counseling office working with files and kids came in for one thing or another, I mistook a boy for a girl or vice versa. In 6h and 7th gradesm, it's not always easy to tell by body shape which is a boy and which a girl, and when girls had their hair cut short and boys wore their hair long...too easy to make a mistake. grin G.Cindy > My cousin named her two kids, a boy and girl. > > The girl is Cayleigh, pronounced Kaylee, and the boy > is Keil, pronounced > Kyle. > > Smile. > > One of the things I always dread is when I get to a > new school year, and end > up with names that well sometimes you can't tell. > > Can you guess whether Hasnaa is a boy or girl, I had > to set my boss straight > on that one. > > She thought... yes... a boy, and she isn't. > > And since mine is s h e l l e y we had to change it > in the school district > and they still spell it wrong on certificates and > stuff sometimes.
