Thanks, Peter, for the clarification. I was wondering why so many people seem to be leaving the bookshare-discuss list. But I could use a little more clarification (though maybe I'm alone in this). I'm not sure to what third-party applications and devices refers, or content. I also note that requests for books to be scanned, which I suppose is what you mean by wish list, come to the bksvol-discuss list.. I seem to remember when I signed up for bookshare a year ago -- or was it two years ago now -- and asked what the difference was between the two discussion groups that bookshare-discuss was where people discussed books and that the bks-vol group was where people discussed scanning & validation problems, as well as other topics of interest to volunteers, both members and non-members. So I thought the bookshare one wouldn't be of interest to me. I recently signed up for it because, from posts in the bks-vol discussion, there seemed to be interesting people in the bookshare one as well as in the bks-vol one and I thought maybe I was missing something. But mostly what I've seen in the few weeks I've been getting it have been repeats of what's in the bks-vol group, or posts of the same type, even though they're from different people and not duplicates. Could you please clarify a bit more, i.e., be a bit more specific as to what should be discussed in the bookshare-discuss list? Books desired and missing pages and duplicated books and seemingly missing books and occasioally non-bookshare topics that friends (which we all have come to be) talk about, like weather and college and placenames, seem to be discussed in the bksvol-discuss group. Maybe we need only one discussion group instead of two. Are the people who've dropped subscriptions to bookshare-discuss on the other list? Have they said why they're dropping, other than, in one case, receiving too much mail? Cindy _______________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
