[bookshare-discuss] Re: Problem with Publisher Quality Files on a Book Courier

I've experienced the same issue with FSReader on my laptop. I use K1000 to
read Publisher quality books, but would love to be able to read them on my
PAC Mate.
I e-mailed Freedom Scientific about it, and they said it could be because of
the daisy format that bookshare puts the PQ books in.
I'm hoping that it gets worked out soon.

Subject: [bookshare-discuss] Problem with Publisher Quality Files on a Book
Courier

For the last 2 years I have been using a Book Courier to read Book Share
digital publications. Today I attempted to transfer a few publisher quality
titles from Book Share on to my B C for the first time. As soon as I typed
in my password and tapped enter on Open, my computer crashed on each of
these files, and the file was not transferred to the B C. Volunteer scanned
files with a rating of excellent, downloaded from Book Share at the same
time were transferred to the B C with no problem.

Is anyone else having a problem transferring Publisher Quality Files to a
Book Courier, or am I the only one having this problem? It's obvious that

the Publisher Quality format will become the most common file type on Book
Share in the not too distant future, and some kind of a work around will
have to be developed to get these files to play on a B C. Is Book Share
currently working on a work around or do I need to contact Springer Design
to get their in put on this issue?

I would appreciate any information or suggestions that anyone can provide
which might help me to continue to use my B C to read Book Share Books.

Paul Franklin
