[bookshare-discuss] Re: OT: Midwest v southern Florida v So California

Hi, Cindy. If my husband's parents didn't live here, we wouldn't, either! We
moved out here to be with his family and it was the biggest mistake of my
life thus far. I *hate* it here! Well, it's not really here, but
circumstances, but that's not for this list. I remember the first earthquake
I was in I think I just about had a heart attack! *smile* I think my dog
did, too! I felt so bad for him! We were drinking coffee. He was under the
table, and the building started moving. My dog bolted up from under the
table and started to run towards the living room. Then he stopped and
stared, like he was saying, "Hey! It's moving over here, too!" It was
priceless. We're moving back to NC ASAP! Take care.

Whatever you do,, Shelley, don't come to Southern
California. much as I love you, we have too many eople
already. Fears of earthquakes, which are relaitvely
few and far between, don't seem to dissuade (sp?) as
many people as beautiful weather during the Rose
Parade attracts them. Ijust heard a forecast on the
radio or TV that in a few years (I forget how many --
a decadeor two?) 50 percent of the U.s. population
will live in Florida, California, Arizona, and New
Mexico. (I can't rememberif Texas was included, but I
don't think so -- too many bugs and too much
humidity).
