The BookCourier website,
http://www.bookcourier.com
says it supports text files (TXT), music MP3 files, Audible.com MP3 files
(type 4 only), and Bookshare.org DAISY files.
It's original price is $379 dollars. , but when you are either a user of
Kurzweil 7 and up, or a member of Bookshare, you can save $40, bringing it
down to $339. Unfortunately, you cannot get $80 dollars off if you use both
Kurzweil and bookshare.
The Book Port is sold at APH,
www.aph.org
It supports TXT, HTM, HTML, BRF, BRL, aa (Audible.com Type 4), MP3, WAV,
NCC.HTML (Daisy 2.x Digital Talking book), OPF (Daisy 3.X Digital Talking
Book), DOC, and RTF
It's price is $395, and no, I don't believe there are any ways to get a
discount.
If you want more information about either, including physical description,
there is a good discussion of both of them on the AFB's website
www.afb.org
In the July issue of Access World. I also would like to point out that both
products seem to come out with updates somewhat regularly, so that article
in access world may be somewhat outdated, so going directly to their
websites would be helpful as well.
