[bookshare-discuss] Re: How Many NLS Members? (was) Re: Bad scan Wheel of Time 3

Hi, again, Sue. I forgot to mention that when I did a search to find out if "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' was available, I just did a simple search, no key words, with Harry Potter in the title field, and 'all' in the Material Types field selected. I got 26 records. I did not read through them all, but links to the Braille versions of several Harry Potter - or Potter-related - books came up. Geepers, Goblet of Fire is ten volumes! So tell me that NLS's search engine is not flaky.

In the simple search, Evan, I make it better if I put the author's name, then put Web Braille (it says to make it two words) in the keyword field.

Wheel of Time 3

As I said to Tony, I was using the simple search and selected 'all' in the
material types field and came up with nothing in the web Braille format.
Then I selected Braille in the material types field and still got nothing.
Then I tried with less confidence the 'electronic resource' selection and
got nothing. I still feel that one or more - at least the 'all' selection
should have brought up the web braille title.
But that just isn't the way it works. I think it's bad design, but since
I
didn't design it, nor am I in line to redesign it, I guess that's the way
I'll have to remember to use it in the future. It is interesting, because
I
have seen titles - complete with links - for Braille titles under the
'all'
material types selection before, so it seemed reasonable to me that
Jordan's
"New Spring" should show up there, but it didn't.

Thanks for the tip.
