Hi.
USB 2.0 is fully backwards compatible with USB 1.1 and 1.0.
Therefore, the Bookport will work normally with all your USB ports, and its
transfer software will not be effected by the ports being 2.0. Just install
the software and use the unit normally unless you have some reason you
haven't mentioned, one other than the ports are 2.0, not to install the
software.

Subject: [bookport] usb1 versus usb2
Hello,
I have gotten a new computer with a bunch of usb ports but they are all
usb2 ports. Without installing the bookport transfer program to the new
computer, can I use the windows explorer to copy text files to the notes
folder and will I then be able to read them . I know that I won't have
the two secondary files copied to the notes folder and that the file
will still be shown as a text file. Will the search command still work so
that I can find my place in the book using it?
Or is there any other way I can use the bookport with this computer.
many thanks,
Ed,
