Hi Ed,
I haven't had problems using a BP with USB 2.0 ports. I just ignore that XP
message about it not working, it almost always does actually work. I don't see
a problem with what you want to do with the notes, either.

Subject: [bookport] usb1 versus usb2
Hello,
I have gotten a new computer with a bunch of usb ports but they are all
usb2 ports. Without installing the bookport transfer program to the new
computer, can I use the windows explorer to copy text files to the notes
folder and will I then be able to read them . I know that I won't have
the two secondary files copied to the notes folder and that the file
will still be shown as a text file. Will the search command still work
so that I can find my place in the book using it?
Or is there any other way I can use the bookport with this computer.
many thanks,
Ed,
