oh I fixed it. it was just a stupid version of windows that wanted a restart and some drivers installed. Don't ask me why, as it was xp pro sp2. Anyway, I got everything transfered now, so it's fine.

Hi Simon:Ugh. I hope your card hasn't gone bad. The simplest thing to do would be to try and reformat the card. If you don't want to do that and if you have access to a card reader, you could do a check disk. Sometimes, if there's corruption, that's a way to fix it.The other possibility is that you have a hung file. Open the Book Port with My Computer or Windows Explorer and look at all of the files on the card. Look for a file that doesn't have a DD file associated with it. For example, you might see Junglebook.aa, Junglebook.ix, but no Junglebook.dd. It is the absence of the DD file that is causing this--it probably happened when you were last transferring. Try deleting those files and your computer should once again recognize the Book Port.Pamela Rader, TECHNICAL SUPPORT American Printing House For The Blind 1839 Frankfort Ave. Louisville, KY 40206 PHONE: 1-800-223-1839, Ext. 307simon4599@xxxxxxxxx 09/01/07 05:23PM >>>Hello,Normally this kind of thing doesn't stump me for long but this one's really got me good. I plugged my bookport into USB a while ago, and was in the process of trying to send a file, when it came up with a message informing me that, for whatever reason, there was an error writing to the file. It was a .DD file, so the whole book, and happened to be about 4 mb in size. Shortly after that, a help balloon came up saying something along the lines of windows was unable to finish writing to H:\. Now the bookport isn't being detected. Any suggestions?Simon
