Those prices are way too high. It is a Type I or 1 Compact Flash memory
card. I bought a 256 card for $22.00 on-line at Zip Zoom Fly.
Kingston or Sandisks are both good.
Hi,
I got my Bookport just a week ago and have done little but play with it since.
I also had trouble determining the battery position, until my wife figured it out. She also figured out how to get out of the memo folder when I got into it accidentally and could hear nothing except "no files" for two hours. Since then it has worked beautifully and I have almost figured out the transfer program.
I have already reached the stage of investigating getting an additional flash card. With the information from the manual that it was a type 1 flash card, I called Wal-Mart's electrical department. When I asked for a type 1 flash card he asked what kind I wanted and ran off a string of letters and words I had never heard of. We finally decided that neither of us knew what we were talking about, and he switched me to the camera department. I then called my computer technition , who had seen the Bookport on Tuesday, when he installed a new sound card, and he said he thought it might be a Compactflashcard, one word, and that a 256 mb was $33 and that a512 mb was $44.
When I told him I had just joined this list he suggested that I ask if that was the right card and which of several brands was preferred.
Any information anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated.
