Hello Dan: I'm interested in what you have heard about the iPod shuffle. I would use the 1GB model myself. I like MP3 players and really enjoyed mine until my vision no longer allowed me to use it. Since the shuffle doesn't have a window I would be interested in what experiences a blind person has with the device. Apple makes such a big deal out of the random shuffle, which would be no good for books. Part of what I like about the Book Port is that it announces the files. So I can find an easily know where I am at any time. I wonder how difficult finding the files on the shuffle would be. The 1GB shuffle at $129 is a good buy. Anyone with any real experience with the shuffle I'd be glad to hear from you. It is taking some time but I am getting used to the doubletalk synthesizer. The other day I was able to load four books on to my Book Port and it only took 3MB. I'm considering getting two gigabyte CompactFlash card. So I can load an entire MP3 book at one time. I scan a lot of books with Kurzweil and use the Neospeech voices when making my mp3 files. Jim Nuttall -- Michigan
