I believe that by law, NLS cannot charge for their basic services (including
especially any equipment needed to play their audio books), but I might be
wrong on this. The fact is, though, that they've never done so in the past.

Hi Catalina and list:

I have read no mention of a charge in anything that I've read. That's not to
say there won't be a charge. It does seem curious though, that one is never
mentioned in the NLS business plan if they were anticipating such an option.
Rumour mills are rampant, and lists are the worst possible means of
breathing life into dead horses. Do you want to know what NLS is or isn't
going to do? The best source of information is your cooperating network
library or NLS directly at 800 424-8567.

Cheers,
Dave
