Rose: Even though the Removable Disc window comes up, we really need to know what the message is in the Book Port Transfer window. Close the Removable Disc window and if the transfer is not open, then open it from your desktop. Once inside there, you can do alt plus f to see if the Book Port shows as being connected. Please pay close attention to that error message, as it will tell us what needs to be done. For instance, if it says, "USB Device not recognized," then it could either be the batteries, or the USB cable. However, if it says, "Book Port Not Connected," then it could be either a card problem, or a drive letter conflict. You may need to try reformatting your Compact Flash Card. Generally, an update won't affect this, so I don't think reinstalling will help you here. However, try reformatting or try another card. If it still doesn't work, then we'll go from there. Also, remember to have all scanners and other USB devices disconnected. Any suggestions. My thought is to reinstall software and try again, but. Second question, what keys to I press to save the info before I change batteries, last time I forgot and had to reset the clock and date again and what a pain that is. Rose Combs rosecombs@xxxxxxxxx
