Hi Dave: You can only copy MP3 files with a Card Reader. Anything else needs to go through the transfer program. You can send both the BRF files or the Daisy files from Book Share. First, you will need to download the Unpacking Tool from Book Share, because the books as you download them are packed and have a "BKS" extension (Book Port won't be able to recognize those BKS extensions). I suspect that's why you got the error the second time. So, once the books have been unpacked and saved somewhere on your hard drive, you can then go into the Book Port Transfer program, locate the folder with the Lookin Box and select the file and use the "Send" button. You can also select the file on your hard drive and choose "Send To Book Port" from the Send To menu. BRF files are braille files and are sufficient enough for straight listening. Daisy files are good for more extensive reading, where you'd want to navigate from section to section (such as newspapers or magazines). Hope that helps! I have recently signed him up for BookShare.org and we downloaded the first file this morning. We downloaded a .BRF file and copied it to a CF card using a flash card reader/writer. When I attempted to start the file I got a message that said "Playing unfiltered files not supported" I thought that perhaps I needed to use the Bookport transfer software so I deleted the file and reloaded it using that. I got the copyright warning file fine, but I still can't access the book file and get the same message. This has happened in the past when we have transferred stories that were written on the BrailleNote and stored in .BRF format. We are hoping to be able to store the files on a CF card so that they can be read using the refreshable display on the BrailleNote and listened to on the Bookport. Are .BRF files not allowed? To do what we want will I have to store two versions, a .BRF for the BrailleNote and a Daisy file for the Bookport? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Blue Skies, Dave
