Hello Chris:

When you speed up the MP3 file to go faster does this change the pitch of the
voice on the file? I'm familiar with the speech compression feature on APH tape
recorders. When you speed up the file using the transfer software does the
file still sounds smooth? I study a great deal. The first time around I like
to listen at a slower speed. When I rereading a book, I would like to listen
at a higher speed. So I'll give it a try.

The software can, just look in the options. You can't change the
speed once the file is on the unit itself, unfortunately.
