I have low vision. So I can see the Book Port very well.  I use it for both for 
text-to-speech and audio MP3.  I used the use MP3 players for audio books.  I 
can no longer see the navigation window which comes with most MP3 players.  So 
I prefer my Book Port.  The Book Port is laid out nicely and does does resemble 
something like a TV remote with the telephone keypad like feature.  It's not 
all that glamorous much more utilitarian in its looks.  It would not be at all 
obvious anyone looking at the Book Port what is meant to do.  It certainly does 
not look like a typical MP3 player or even and audio device.  So, as another 
person mentioned, it wouldn't be obviously something for somebody to pickup if 
they found it laying around.  I like the clip on the Book Port.  So I can clip 
it right into my shirt pocket.  Also by the way the lowest price I've seen on a 
2GB CompactFlash card is about $152 (CompUSA) not including the shipping.  So 
you're paying pretty much the market price o
 n your
 CompactFlash card.

the time) was convinced that I listened to the TV remote. He kept finding 
any remote we had, trying to plug my headphones into it and then would try 
and give me it (smile). Now, he often sits with me listening to stories on 
the bookport played through a shared pair of ear buds (he's still very 
young) or through an external speaker. He thinks it's great, and by the 
way, he's sighted.

I'm glad it doesn't look too sleek or flashy, it's less likely to get stolen 
from anywhere.
