Bruce and list:
Many individuals who happen to use Windows also happen to use Linux.  I  can  
name a number of individuals who use Linux boxes and also have Windows systems. 
 
I do agree that there will be people  on this list who will not know what Linux 
is, but I am quite confident that quite a few of the savvy users will.
I am in favor of a Linux version of the transfer tool.  I play with idea of 
setting up a Linux systen, but I haven't gotten there yet.

Given that Linux, by definition, is a different operating system, yes, 
you'd have to change your operating system to acomodate the change. I 
think asking existing users if they'd like to see this is a bit 
misrepresentative, since BP's current dependence on Windows means that 
anyone who already has one has access to Windows.
