I just bought a set of these at Wal-Mart and like them very much. When I
took them out of the package they seemed so light and unsubstantial that I
thought, "Oh, no! What did I get these for?" but they're wonderful. Quite
portable and non-invasive. They're also louder than you'd expect. Best of
all, they truly cause very little discomfort.
Crystal, an alternative to ear buds is a set of wrap-around headphones. Phillips makes a pair that I like. They hang on
the ear, so you don't actually stick anything in the canal. additionally, the speaker unit is mounted on a little rod so you can turn it and face t closer or further from your ear canal depending on background noise or other factors. 've always bought these at places like Osco Drug, so they're probably pretty easy to find. You should be able to get these for around $10.00.

.Subject: [bookport] Speakers and ear buds
.
.Hi,
.Is anyone using a small set of external speakers with their Book Port that
.they really like?
.
.Also, although, I am not overly fond of ear buds, I would like a good pair.
.
.The ones that came with the Book Port I do not find comfortable, and seem to
.have a loud hiss in the background.
.
.Thanks for any suggestions.
.
