Linda,

You might want to try another earphone just to make sure whether it's the
earphone or the jack that's causing the problem.

I have a problem with my book port.  I probably will have to send it back,
but, really hate to have to do that though. The earphone jack is loose, or there's a short, but, sometimes I have to move the book port or the earphone
around because it cuts out.  I am still using it, however, and wonder if
when I send it back, will it mean a $60 repair, or more?  Also, how long
might it take to have it looked at?
