Hi Bill, I heard about it from Don also on this list. Its the only program I'm aware of. It works really well. I've down loaded 3 books now using it with the book port. The E and F keys which move half way through a book work with the book as well. I'm not clear which keys to use if you want to skip ahead by 30 seconds. My only dilemma now is that I am having so much fine and enjoying not sitting at my computer to listen to the books, I'm spending to my time reading. smile Nancy _____ From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Bill Sent: Saturday, October 21, 2006 7:45 AM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport] Re: Overdrive Hi Nancy: Thanks to you and the others for your comments on Overdrive. Is Sound Taxi the only or best program for converting books to MP3 format and of so, where is it available? It costs about $15 It works really well. There are a couple steps involved first you have to down load the book from the web site. Then you use Sound Taxi to convert it. Then you transfer the converted files on to the book port. One other suggestion was made to me which is to copy the converted files from your computer directly on to the flash card if you don't wan to speed them up or anything. I had a hard time with Jaws purchasing the program. There is supposed to be a continue button on the bottomed of one screen that I couldn't find. I called, and when they tried to charge the $3 service fee, I explained that the site wasn't totally friendly. The fee was waved. I haven't had trouble using the actual program. Good Luck. In the meantime, I've jusst found out that I can download audio books from my local library which uses Overdrive to download/play the books. The books should be played at 32 bit, they say. Would these downloaded books be playable on the Bookport? Thanks. BILL
