I use Neospeech in K1000 and like it, but it is a memory hog.

I'm not real up to date on voices in a technical sort of way.
But has anyone heard of something called Neo Speech?
I recently purchased the new version of Kurzweil scanning software. Someone
mentioned that it had 2 new Neo speech voices, Kate and Paul. I'm not
buying it for that reason, and I'm looking forward to its arrival soon. I
just wondered if anyone knows about the neo speech. However I do not wish
to suggest any changes in the speech of the Book Port at this time. I just
love how it responds and works fine for my needs. And if it ain't broke...

I agree; that's why I went with AT&T.

I'm considering expanding my collection of voices. Slowly.

To each his own, I suppose, but quality is in the ears of the
listener. I like the AT&T voices as well as Eloquence, but the
Microsoft voices are extremely inferior, at least to me.

This is taking a long, long time (as might be expected). Not only
does this tie up the Bookport for quite some time, but I know that
the Bookport batteries drain when it is connected to the USB port.

Is there a way of using the Bookport queuing system to pre-process
the text-formatted book into an audio format before connecting the
Bookport? In this way I would only have to tie up my comuter for
the transfer time and not the entire processing time to transform
the book from text to audio.

Thanks.
