Yes, you must use the Book Port software in order to have any navigation =
commands in an mp3 file.

I tried your suggestion however it didn't work. It just played on as =3D
though
nothing was pressed. =3D20

The method which I transferred the file was by copying it from a folder =
=3D
then
opening My Computer scrolling down to the removable drive K: opening it =
=3D
and
pasting it in my book folder. Is this the wrong method to do this? =3D20

Hi.
Try 1, 4, 7, and 7 held down for one beep to go back 2 seconds in =
an
MP3, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, or 60 seconds. 3, 6, 9, and 9 held down =3D
should
go forward by the same time periods. The only time I've seen these =3D
commands
fail to work is when you transfer the mp3 file using a card reader.

Subject: [bookport] MP3 question

Hello,
I downloaded the documentation in MP3 format from A P H which is 38MB =3D
and
transferred it to the bookport. after starting to read it I tried to =3D
use 1
key to go back a sentence and 3 to go forward a sentence and other keys =
=3D
to
do other things. nothing worked. I can see a problem with reading =3D
audible
file on the player already. my suggestion is to incorporate a fast =3D
forward
and reverse into the player. I sometimes have a tendency to miss =3D
something
and wish to go back a minute or 2 but at this point I don't think I =3D
would be
able to. besides, some like to fast forward through a music file to a =3D
part
or possibly go back to relisten to a part. I had a RIO 500 and a RIO =3D
900
and I could do it with both of them. it would start sort of slow then =3D
speed
up. the nice thing was I could hear it going back or forward at a high =
=3D
rate
of speed. I could then stop and it would just start playing at that =3D
point.
