One thing that might be going on here is that you need to check the "Send = as Music" checkbox in the Options dialog. >>> dcj638586@xxxxxxxxxxx Wednesday, April 07, 2004 11:25:28 PM >>> Hi Dave, I just transferred a MP3 file that was 38MB and it transferred fine. No problems and I received the success tone when it was finished. The file plays well but I can't get it to go back or forward using any keys. It = =3D just plays or stops when I hit the 2 key. No other keys work. =3D20 Dave =3D20 Dave Cunningham (412) 257-8153 Voice (412) 215-4597 Cell dcj638586@xxxxxxxxxxx=20 Email used for MSN as well. =3D20 Norton Anti-Virus scan's all incoming and outgoing email. -----Original Message----- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx =3D [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]=20 On Behalf Of David Allen Sent: Wednesday, April 07, 2004 10:53 PM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx=20 Subject: [bookport] Re: MP3 question Hi Aman and others, Perhaps you or someone here could correct my thinking as it may be =3D wrong. I have always transferred files to the bookport in the manner described, =3D ie selecting the file, pressing the context key, selecting send to, then bookport from the send to menu. As you have described, I usually hear =3D beeps that seem to rise in pitch for a few seconds, followed by the success signal. However, this doesn't always seem to work very well when transferring large files. In this, I mean files of a size greater than perhaps 10 Megs or so. In these cases, I hear the beeps, but they stop =3D after a few minutes. It is as if the transfer has haulted somewhere in =3D midstream, but I can't determine what, if anything is happening. Once I waited for = =3D well over a half hour after the beeps had ceased before disconnecting. Is =3D there a way to make this smoother? Thanks for any help. Dave
