SD cards are quite distinguishable.  I can tell you that they will be a
snap for most people to use.  They are small, and the only thing I ever
worry about is losing one.

I'm not trying to start an argument here, I honestly don't know, having
never seen an SD card. But the old MMC cards, which were also very
small, had one clipped corner, making orientation a breeze. Do SD cards
have the same feature?
