FYI: Although the Book Port has been discontinued, APH has other products that will be supported with Bookshare and the NLS support, so the Victor isn't the only product out there. The Braille + and the Book Wizard Reader will also read Book Share books. and We will begin Beta testing for the NLS books on the Braille + within the next week and if all goes well within the testing phase, it should be released within the next month or so--just had to get the APH 2 cents' worth in there, since last time I checked this was the Book Port List, supported by APH. I use a Book Port and absolutely love it. So it will probably surprise you when I suggest that you invest in buying a Victor Stream instead. I have two reasons for making this suggestion. The first is that the Book Port is nearing the end of its product cycle, meaning that replacement parts and memory cards will become harder to obtain in the years to come. Second, the Stream can handle NLS books while Book Port can't. I love my Book Port and would be sad without it. I bought mine used though, and logic tells me that if a person can buy a product in new condition, it should be one that will be current and the most versatile. If you'd like to talk to the people from Humanware and other Stream owners, TekTalk is hosting a live demonstration of the Stream with its new software on Monday night at 5 P.M. Pacific, 8 P.M. Eastern. Just go to http://www.accessibleworld.org and click on the link for the TekTalk conference room. This demonstration is free to everyone, and there will be a question and answer period after the presentation. Hope this helps. Monica Willyard Hey ya'll, I am part of the bookshare list, and I thought this would be relevant to all who are using the BP and are starting to think twice about the Victor Stream, so uh, do check this out!-- Chela Robles E-Mail: cdrobles693@xxxxxxxxx WindowsLive Messenger: cdrobles693@xxxxxxxxxxx Verizon Mobile Phone: (925) 250-5955 SkypeName: jazzytrumpet (!SMILEYFACE!)
