[bookport] Re: Converting Overdrive books to MP3.

Lana,

WMP will not convert WMA files to mp3 if they have DRM protection. I think
that is the main point that the person that replied to you is missing. I
believe you are wanting to convert DRM protected files. If that is the
case, then you are back to Sound Taxi, TuneBite, or using something like
Total Recorder to record them real time as they are played. You could
probably also burn them to cd then rip them to mp3, but what a hassle.

I think you missunderstood my question. I do have Media Player 10, and
transfers to my DS player work fine. I just keep running up against a
suggestion that I can convert to MP3 using windows media player and then
transfer to book port, but my media player won't do it. The faq doesn't
even address that question; so, how do I convert to MP3? Or isn't it
possible after all.
