[booklyn] Autonomedia benefit this weekend

hello, Booklynites --

Autonomedia, my 12-year passionate embrace, is hosting two benefit
performances of the Howard Zinn play "Marx in Soho" this weekend, on
Friday and Saturday at the Brecht Forum. The play's premise is that Marx
returns from the dead after 100 years, but through a bureaucratic mix-up
winds up in NYC's SoHo instead of the London Soho where he spent his last
years; from here, of course, all sorts of wacky hijinx follow, mostly
along the lines of Marx saying "Hey, these Marxists are fulla shit, but my
ideas were right on target after all!" I haven't read the play myself yet,
but my sense is that if you love dialectical yucks about superstructure,
historical materialism and the such, this will be a delightful evening!

Entrance starts at ten smackers, Brecht Forum is on the west side at 451
West Street, and the thing begins at 8pm on Friday and Saturday. Please
come! More info is at http://www.autonomedia.org

toot,
Ben
