[bookcourier] slow startup

?  Whenever I place headphones or a speaker into the bookcourier, it seems
to take a long time or at least a few seconds to wake up.  I have to press
some buttons and sometimes, though not always, reset the unit.  Does anyone
out ther notice this problem
