I agree. the nvidia chipset is what I have in most of my machines and have= never had that problem with the bc. I have seen it on some machines with amd processors so there may be some= chipset issues with amd based mother boards and the usb controlers on them= but since I only have one, I can't come up with anything conclusive. I= remember hhaving other strange hardware issues with via chipsets for amd= mother boards like network cards which wouldn't work unless you installed= service packs from the mb web site but this was in the thunderbird days= and I think things have improoved dramatically since then. *********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** On 4/26/2005 at 9:40 AM Greg Epley wrote: >I have the NVIDIA chipset in my HP notebook and haven't had any problems. >Would you please point me to whatever source told you this? >-Greg > >----- Original Message ----- >From: "Kevin Jones" <kevin@xxxxxxxxxxx> >To: <bookcourier@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> >Sent: Tuesday, April 26, 2005 9:28 AM >Subject: [bookcourier] Re: usb version of book courier? > > >> Unfortunately the book courier seems not to work at all with nvidia chip >> sets. >> >> -----Original Message----- >> From: bookcourier-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >> [mailto:bookcourier-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dan Rossi >> Sent: Tuesday, April 26, 2005 8:58 AM >> To: book courier >> Subject: [bookcourier] Re: usb version of book courier? >> >> On Tue, 26 Apr 2005, Adam Morris wrote: >> >>> Hi guys, >>> >>> I'm having an ongoing problem connecting my bc to any pc's usb ports. >>> >>> I've tried it on 4 different pc's with 3 different cables (one supplied= =3D >>> by springer recently) and it says the usb device is malfunctioning and= =3D >>> windows can't recognise it. >>> >> What version of Windows are you using? >> >> No, the BC is USB 1.1 but any 2.0 system should have no problem talking= to >> it. >> >> -- >> Blue skies. >> Dan Rossi >> Carnegie Mellon University. >> E-Mail: dr25@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx >> Tel: (412) 268-9081 >> >> >>
