[blindza] Skype mobile

If you can make use of your phone's web browser, and you go to the following URL on your phone, it will allow you to download a mobile/cellphone version of skype - you'll have to click on the graphical link, which doesn't seem to have a tag/label assigned to it, but which is pretty obvious:
http://www.skype.com/m

This will download and let you install a version of skype for use on mobile/cell phones, and while not sure it would be worth making use of skype phone calls to any sort of number since you'd be paying internet/data rates, it means you can in any case carry out real time, instant messaging chats, and me and Corrie tested it, and just found that while to read message history, you do need to sometimes scroll up and down from the IM window, it seems to work OK, and it also seems better with talks to switch over to word cursor mode - simplest is talks key followed by a long press of the number 2 key to cycle through settings.

Haven't done too much testing with it, but it seems to work well enough, and doesn't cost anything to try out, apart from download bandwidth, although I am also using my current PC skype user name, but would sort of assume that registration etc. wouldn't be too much of an issue since you might just get a form of SMS verification or something.

This basically means that you could leave skype running in the background, and do whatever else on your phone, but still be available for real time chatting etc. without being in front of a computer.

Main thing is menu systems etc. seem to work well enough with talks on my N82 - and might try it out on my 6680 a bit later except can't really do much web browsing on that phone, but might at least be able to try start download etc. if phone model is supported.

Stay well
