Hi, Guys, Me again, with my experiments. For some time now, I have been trying to make NVDA sound like Jaws, as I am so used to the Jaws voice. NVDA is free, very simple to use, very effective and can even speak Afrikaans! This weekend, I succeeded. Unfortunately, it will only work for 60 days, as I installed Zoomtext, which only gives me 60 days trial. But, when I disable Zoomtext [there is a "disable Zoomtext" choice on it's Edit menu] I can start up nvda, go to its preferences, choose Sappi 4, and then choose any Jaws voice. And NVDA sounds real good that way! Unfortunately, when I tried to re-install Zoomtext again after I had uninstalled it, leaving it's synths behind, it told me it had expired, so I will now have to use another computer. And I already know that, when it expires after 60 days, gone will be my Jaws voice on NVDA. The speech synthesizer Zoomtext use [amongst some others]is called "IBM ViaVoice". I tried to find a Free version of it on the Internet, but when I click on the "Free" [or any TTS, for that matter] it doesn't allow me to go further. Any ideas from your sides? Kind regards, Deon [G.
