Sorry to hear that. Was just that the owner of the venue wants to make sure he prepares well enough.
Presumably though, other people linked to BlindSA will still make it? Stay well Jacob Kruger Blind Biker Skype: BlindZA '...fate had broken his body, but not his spirit...'----- Original Message ----- From: "Cathy" <mwcathdo@xxxxxxxxxx>

I will be away with blind bowlers in Australia.----- Original Message ----- From: "Jacob Kruger" <jacobk@xxxxxxxxxxxx>To: "BlindZA" <blindza@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: 24 March 2009 7:50 PM Subject: [blindza] Movie night for blindies update - 25 April 2009Movie night for blindies - 25 April 2009 Currently busy setting up a movie night for VI/blind people where will be playing a few movie soundtracks for some guys with descriptive narration added in to the normal soundtrack, and we've already found a decent venue where there'll be drinks and food available, and me and the owner havealready decided that if sighted guys want to find out how it feels, they're welcome to be there that day, but will have to wear blindfolds as such, butapart from that one, we've also decided that we'll make sure there are a couple of extra people on duty that night/afternoon in order to help all 'blindies' order refreshments, get to the toilet etc. etc. The date/time for this happening will be on Saturday the 25th of April, starting at around 2PM in the afternoon, and for what it's worth, this venueis just off the R25 here in Kempton Park, so it's relatively easy to getto/find, and if you need/want directions or GPS coordinates, you can ask me.Finally, for that night/afternoon, was also thinking that along the lines of how we used to 'see' movies in the old days, I might start off the occasionwith something shorter, and just a bit more entertaining, like narrativeaudio versions of Tintin books I also have, and then might let the attendees vote on what they want to see/hear afterwards since I have a broad range oftypes ranging from classic movies, musicals, horror, science fiction, action, romantic, etc. etc.. We have decided to basically charge a small flat fee for everyone, and it will include supper later on, and while sighted people might have to also pay a small fee for their blindfold/blinker, the total cost should rangefrom around R30-R70, and part of the dinner process might include a bit of a 'chance' thing where sighted people will try guess what the food is, since they're used to seeing it normally, and part of the idea behind that is todo a bit more than just share the blind movie experience with them. Contact me via webmaster@xxxxxxxxxxxxx, or this email address if you want more details, would like to be invited/notified etc. Jacob Kruger Blind Biker 082 413 4791 Skype: BlindZA '...fate had broken his body, but not his spirit...' ---------- To send a message to the list, send any message to blindza@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to blindza-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the subject line--- The 'homepage' for this list is at http://www.blindza.co.za---------- To send a message to the list, send any message to blindza@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to blindza-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the subject line--- The 'homepage' for this list is at http://www.blindza.co.za
